Deception Point

Hell of novel to go through. Prologue itself was sufficient enough to create complete suspense and anxiety for the novel. All political drama, conspiracy, zeal to fetch power and adventure in polar region made the novel so interesting that it forced me to complete it in minimum possible stretch (quiet contrary to me :P), and I couldn't even stop myself from spending my complete day in office on it...huffffff (now that was adventurous, I must say :-D)!!! Anyways....coming to a small summary of the novel -

Intelligence Analyst Rachel Sexton is working for NRO which ultimately works for US government. Senator Sedgewick Sexton, her father, is a very popular presidential candidate for upcoming US elections and wants her daughter to leave the job because it appears as if she is working for his opponent, the current President Zachary Herney. Rachel somehow is much unfound of her father and his activities and is not at all interested in his presidential campaign. Senator Sedgewick Sexton's main armor in the current election against the current president is continuous failure of NASA in its performance and large amount of fund still spent on it. Senator's secretary, Gabrielle gave him this weapon to fight in the current election. Now Rachel has a suspicious invitation from current president to meet him up personally of which her NRO boss, William Pickering, seems quiet suspicious. Finally Rachel meets President Zachary Herney at an airbase in Air Force One. Rachel is quiet impressed by President's personality and in comparison to that of her father, finds it filled with positive energy. President without giving her many details asks her to visit one of his scientists from NASA. When Rachel moved, she sees a high speed aircraft awaiting her and she is bit shocked. Finally she lands into it and quiet surprisingly and in shocked state is taken to Arctic Circle. There she finds half of NASA present there with various civilian scientists. Among them she comes across Ekstrom, NASA administrator, and civilian scientists including Michael Tolland, the famous oceanographer, Corky Marlinson, an astrophysicist, Wailee Ming, the paleontologist and Norah Mangor, the glaciologist.

All civilian scientists helped her describe the great discovery made by NASA. NASA had found the part of meteorite that had struck long back through its Earth Observatory System. The major part of the discovery was finding the remains of life inside the strata of the meteorite. Norah was the responsible person to pull the buried meteorite out of ice using some laser techniques. When the meteorite is pulled out, a big hollow pit filled with water is left behind. Rachel was too surprised and impressed by the discovery. Then she gets a call from President who asks her to brief this discovery to his White House staff who were still unaware as the discovery was a very secret mission being carried by NASA. After some hesitation she brief's it to White house on the condition that her doing the briefing won't be made public and used in election campaign.

On the other hand the mission is being very closely observed by Delta force personnel, expert army men. Dr. Ming moves away from the crowd towards the water pit and founds something surprising there and as he was about to make a new discovery, he is killed by Delta Force by making him fall in the chilled water pit. After some time, Rachel, Michael, Corky and Norah reach there and find something contradictory about the discovery made. They found that there was some leakage from where fresh water was coming. This information was conveyed to NASA administrator and he send them all to find out the truth. They were also being observed simultaneously by Delta Force. All four of them came out of the habisphere, Norah found some amazing facts which proved that the meteorite was forcefully introduced in the current place and also found the body of Dr. Ming. At the same time they were attacked by Delta force, Norah gets killed and rest of the three escape somehow. They fall in Arctic Ocean and are saved by a navy ship. They are quiet surprised and shocked as who are the people trying to kill them.

Meanwhile back in Washington, Senator Sedgewick Sexton enters into a public debate with secretary of current President, Marjorie Tench. They have a hot debate over NASA, where Senator somehow entangled in Trench's words, accepts that he will abolish NASA if required. Gabrielle, senator's secretary, was getting information from some unknown source about NASA's failure and then she was invited to meet. Shockingly she discovers the person to be Marjorie Tench. She blackmails her about her relationship with the Senator and also shows her the proof that senator was taking bribe from various private organizations to abolish NASA. Tench wanted her to accept her relationship with Senator Sedgewick Sexton publically. Gabrielle becomes very suspicious about Senator if he is taking bribe and finally discovers it to be true. But somehow again comes under the tricky words of Senator.

President finally makes the announcement about the great discovery and at the same time shatters the political dream of Senator Sedgewick Sexton. Sexton asks Gabrielle to find out some facts to protect the campaign. And to her surprise Gabrielle finally discovers that the EOS is not even functioning correctly, and the meteorite discovery was made by some Canadian scientist and not by NASA. That scientist got killed somehow and this discovery was used by NASA as it intercepted the signal the scientist sent after he made the discovery. She was about to give this info to the Senator when she finally comes to know how greedy senator had become to fetch power and started hating him.

Back navy ship, Rachel made contact with her boss, William Pickering, and tells him about the situation. She also calls at President's office to stop the President to make the discovery public which he was about to make. Marjorie Tench, receives the call and doubts her intension and warning her about it. Rachel from there moves to Tolland's ship were they can have further investigation of the fact of find extraterrestrial existence of life. There they discover that this fact was also manipulated. When they are about to leave they are again attacked by Delta Force. The trio has doubt on all, current President Zachary Herney, Marjorie Tench, and Ekstrom who might be trying to kill them but surprisingly Rachel finds her NRO boss, William Pickering to be the one behind this entire plot. William Pickwring also gets Tench killed as he thought she might prove problematic. Rachel somehow sent all the information about the revelation through fax to only hope coming to her mind which was her father, Senator Sedgewick Sexton. In confrontation with Pickering, he reveals that he didn't wanted NASA to be closed and hated her father for attempting this. He tried to convince President Zachary Herney to use all information he got against the senator (his relationship with his secretary and taking bribe) but Herney was against using negative publicity. So he had to plot all this. Then Delta Force tries to kill the trio, but somehow Rachel, Tolland and Corky are able to kill Delta Force, Pickering also gets killed.

Senator Sedgewick Sexton gets the fax sent by Rachel and becomes very happy about it, inspite of the fact that her daughter’s life was in danger as Pickering gave him a call not to disclose as it might prove harmful for his daughter. Gabrielle tries to stop him, but he neglects it and calls press conference. As he was about to make announcement, Rachel arrives and tries to stop his father by convincing that there had been no involvement of President Zachary Herney, so not to throw blames on him. But still Sexton didn't agree and went to press. As he distributed the documents, all started laughing at him. Surprisingly when he had a look, he found the papers containing his and Gabrielle personal pictures. This exchange was done by Gabrielle to give some lesson to the Senator.

Finally President Zachary Herney again called a press conference apologizing about all under goings. Gabrielle is asked to join his government. Rachel, Tolland and Corky are given special invitation to spend their time in President's office and also finally Tolland and Rachel find their soul mates in each other.....Nice ending...... :-)

Those Eyes!!!

Those eyes were full of depth & fierce,
I tried hard to look into and understand;
But Alas!!!, that shine was scarily bright,
Making it impossible to gaze even for a while....

That Magnetic amplitude shown in fraction of a sec,
That enormous depth of greatest Ocean,
Was it my fortune to have a small glimpse of it...
Or was it a doom, which hangs over all while,

People say, eyes are reflection of personalities,
If the saying is true, then is it so....
Those eyes reflect that intense innerself,
Which might seem scarier at times,
But in true sense were immensely quixotic...

Ohhhh!!! that was a distant mirage it seems...
A dreamy, vaguely shining illusion of my eyes,
Otherwise, surely would have seen again;
Those sharp, fiery, intense deep eyes....

Going on looooong looooong ride;
At twelve in d night...:))
Little bit chilled, little bit high...
Fast flowing wind, making me fly....
Zillions of stars glittering in d sky...!!!
Blissful silence spreading all around...
Only to hear that divine musical sound...
Nothing very complex, nothing very big....

Lost Small Dreams......!!!

Those small dreams of mine,
Which were part of me, myself;
Seem to be lost somewhere,
In the crowd of big, ambitious dreams!!

Those silly, sweet moments I used to cherish,
Just doing things for the sake of doing,
Now, why every action has these words compulsorily attached;
Why, when, where, who and if;

I wanna fly high, over that rainbow so high,

But time has changed, and so has the circustances,
Why haven't I, the result of which I feel weak in my heart,

The only way to find serenity in such phase,
I should let all my silly, stupid dreams to be lost in haze;
But this is for sure, i will crave for them more n more,
They will always be a part of my existence for ever n ever n ever.....

That Spark....!!!

That Spark was spontaneous, and very bright....
Which has struck my mind and my sight....
My thought, my dreams have got flooded with that light....
I find myself tangled in its lovely hindsight....!!!
